Bunkai28 Soto-uke Nage(Uchi-uke Throw ) in Gekisai syodan
The seventh movement of Gekisai syodan is consecutive movement of uchi-uke and soto-uke.These two kinds of uke are carried out at the same time.Is it why ? It is because Bunkai of this movement is a locking technique and Throw. The throw by this joint lock is application of Sashite by the principle of leverage, too.

The application of the seventh behavior "hiki-uke" of Gekisai nidan is "hiki-uke Nage" likewise, too.
Bunkai27 Final movement of Sisouchin and "Sasi-te"
Most of throwing and joint locks of Gojuryu are carried out by the principle of "Sashi-te"(Stabbing hand). It is application of the principle of leverage.Karate needs the momentary offense and defense.Hence the "grasps" and the "catching are verbose. The knack of Sashite is not to grab but to sandwich-hit the enemy's arm. Gojuryu-fighter does the joint lock by the principle of "Sashi-te".
The photos are the final movements of Sisouchin.A turn in Kata almost means a throwing technique. The person who does not know this Gojuryu principle will understand it mere Kamae. You handle the right hand like a stick.
Bunkai26 What technique this Saifa's movement is hiding?
This type of movement(fist and palm) in Kata often hides some technique.I'll refer about the secret this movement in Kata Saifa hides.(Saifa which refers in this article isn't Saifa in WKF and is traditional Saifa.)

Movement of traditional Saifa used in Yuzenkai.Pay attention to the difference with Saifa in WKF.The first half of this movement means a counterattack to an attacker, and the second half means a counterattack to the counterattack.

Bunkai which is frequently seen in every day textbook of Kata. This technique can't shoot the attacker in one motion. The first elbow blow is too redundant. In other words, it takes time for a counterattack too much.

yuzenkaiRight Bunkai:I armlock to enemy's wrist by attacking enemy's vital point "syakutaku" by my kakete (using the root of little finger "shishi-kyu") and shoot my elbow to his vital point "wakikage".(Refer to the back nomber 7 of Kancho's essay about using of "shishi-kyu".)This is the technique which does release from an enemy and an elbow attack to an enemy in one operation. This armlock technique to wrist has many application.
Movement in the second half of Kata means my counterattack technique when I am counterattacked by the same technique of the enemy .

Another Bunkai.I attack attacker's vital point"chi-kon" with my elbow as soon as defend the jodan-tsuki(or chudan-tsuki).The movement of my foot is same as a movement of a foot of Saifa.
Step so that a thigh of a forefoot may be bumped against enemy's Kinteki.
Bunkai25 About the technique of fiinal movement of Suparinpei
The final movement of Suparinpei has much "hidden techniques".I already showed secret one in "Kancho's essey No.7".I show the technique by Sashite(sticking) this time.As for the joint lock of Gojuryu, Sashite(sticking) is a principle basically.Because an offense and defense of Karate are very fast. The principle of Sashite(sticking) is circular motion of mawashiuke.

In the case of
this skill, I circulately move my body counterclockwise.I can exclude the glenohumeral joint of opponent on this state.
Bunkai24 About the technique of Nidan-geri in Betturin(or Suparinpei)
Nidan-geri of Nahate-Gojury is greatly different from the one of Syurite-Syotokan in bunkai. It is difference between short distance Karate and long-distance Karate, and difference between circular movement Karate and straight line movement Karate .I explain about it as an example of Betturin(origin of Suparinpei). In that Kata, we should think about the meaning of Nidan-geri after turning.

①sukui-uke..........②uchi-mawashi-keri ........③turn.........................④shiko-dachi/hiki-uke

⑤nidan-geri(left/right)....⑥hiji-uchi.....................⑦ura-ken.................. ⑧hiki-uke
Mawashi-geri of Suparinpei is the uchi-mawashi-geri of Karate from ancient times.Mawashi-geri of modern Karate is the Mawashi-geri from Muay Thai(Thai boxing). That is the keri under the modern competition rule to assume an attack for Kinteki a foul. This uchi-mawashi-geri has three variations according to distance with opponent.

..... ..1...................... .... .2.2....................... 3. 4.
1.Mawashi-geri to attack the head of opponent 2.Mawashi-geri to attack the backbone of opponent 3.4.Mawashi-geri to break the arm of opponent

............................... .................................. ③
①②…I break a posture of opponent by yoko-hiki-uke.
③…The opponent sinks his posture. My jodan-uchi-mawashigeri swish the air.

............................ ...... ⑤............................ ..
④I turn instantly and try to suppress the opponent again by hiki-uke with centrifugal force.
⑤The opponent try to repel my attack by getting up his attitude.
I start nidangeri using the force that opponent gets up.This left keri is a feint for right keri.

....⑦ ⑧ ⑨
⑦I shoot right keri as a reaction of left keri to chudan of opponent.
(vital point suigetsu or chikon or wakikage)
⑧A person falls down ahead when his chudan vital points are attacked .I suppress opponent by my weight taking advantage of his down.
⑨I attack by hiji to his vital point "kassatu",seventh part of backbone.
zanshin:If he is going to get up more, I hit his jodan by uraken.
Nidan-geri of Gojuryu is the one of crane. This skill needs the lightness such as the dance of the crane. It is totally different from Nidan-geri of Syotokan...........
Bunkai23 About the technique from the 11th to the 14th of Sesan.
This movement ,Sukui-uke and Osae-uke with taking Sanchin-dachi step forward, is one of the theorems of gojuryu Karate. In other Kata, the same behavior or the Similar behavior appear. So, this behavior has much bunkai including a joint lock. The basic principle is "Sashi-te" and "Mawashi-uke".
The following is the throwing technique using yokohiki-uke. This type of throw may be rare.
Other bunkai are introduced in members only page.

Left Syuto attacks vital point of opponent.

.............Use
force of hikite of opponent.
Bunkai22 About the 24th-25th movement of Suparinpei
The 24th - 25th movement of Suparinpei (of Chojun Miyagi)
Many Karate textbooks say that the another name for "Suparinpei" is "Betturin"(Petturin). In other words,"Suparinpei" and "Betturin"are same kata. But, Chojun Miyagi's Suparinpei and Kanryo Higaonna's Betturin have many differences including a method of the breathing. Especially final movement of both kata are greatly different. They are not same kata.
I think Miyagi greatly had remodeled "Betturin" of Kanryo Higaonna by thought of Miyagi's training. Or there is a possibility that "Suparinpei" was not instructed directly to Chojum Miyagi by Kanryo Higaonna.I feel that Betturin has an element of Syuri-te in a large extent .This part of "Suparinpei" shows to us that character well.I interpret this part's bunkai by returning to movement of Betturin.Otherwise this part is extremely unnatural.
left: The last movement of Suparinpei / right: The last movement of Betturin
Same movement of Kanryo Higaonna's Betturin
The bunkai of 24th - 25th movement
Immediately after Sotouke,I rush and morote-tuki toward the opponent with Zenkutudachi , switch my posture to shikodachi instantly and strike his kinteki with Gedanbarai , come back to Zenkutudachi instantly and let him do a coup de grace with Gakuzuki. The consecutive attacks by the quick change of Zenkutudachi and Sikodachi are the trick.
Bunkai21 from Kata"KURURUNFA".
Representative throw "Juzi-uke" in "Kururunfa".My body movements is different whether I throw the enemy with my left hand or my right hand.
The casewhich throws an enemy with my left hand. I attack the enemy's vital point of joint of his elbow and his shoulder, and I throw him and bring him under control. Finally I destroy his glenohumeral joint.I usually do "Mae-geri" to an enemy with "Juzi-uke".
The case ②which throws an enemy with my left hand.
The case ②which throws an enemy with my right hand.I elbow (empi) to the vital point "wakikage" of enemy at the same time of "Juzi-uke".
Bunkai15,16,17,18,19,20 from Kata"Gekisai syodan"(撃砕初段より)

Rei
①This movement is "Osae-uke".I knock off the Chudan-tsuki of the attacker.

This is the technique which poke a surprise.
the attack. There is the oral tradition that "Jodan tsuki" of the second movement is "Chudan tsuki" formally.I obey it.
②An example of Bunkai of the primer level.
I strike the attacker's vital point "Chikon乳根"(3cm under the nipples) by Seiken or Ipponken or Enpi. This is the part between the fifth and sixth of ribs.
The attack to this point gives the damage to sympathetic nerve of the lungs of the enemy and causes dyspnea. It is fatal when I attack this vital part with an Enpi in particular.
I advance the left foot behind the attacker.
I do left Age-tsuki to a chin of the attacker and instantly do Gedanbarai to hypogastric vital point "Myojo明星or Kinteki" of the attacker by same hand.
Vital part "Myojo" is the part under 4.5cm of umbilical and is the position of jejunum.
It is the weakest part of lower abdomen. The attack to this part causes the damage to peritoneum , bladder and aorta.

③High level Bunkai
I wind up the attacker's arm by my arm which did Jodan-uke from the outside of attacker's arm.
And I lock his arm by my left side. At the same time, my left wrist strike the attacker's brachial vital point "Wanjun腕馴" at the same time.I strike the attacker's vital point "Wakikage脇陰" or "Chikon乳根" at the same time by my right Seiken.Wakikage is the vital point between fourth ribs and the fifth ribs under the side. This vital point affect the nerve of the pleura, and damage of this causes the drop of the function of the lungs.Train you to be able to perform this movement in a lungful.
I strike vital point "Mikazuki三日月" of the attacker by "Kamite咬手".
This vital point is the Adam's apple.
The cartilage of the trachea is exposed under skin in this part.
The attack to this vital point causes dyspnea and the cervical spine damage.
The cross of the both hands as the ready posture of Jodan-Uke has various meanings. Most important Bunkai is "techniques of choking " in the close combat.(→Gojuryu five Categories of Technique. All Uke of Goju-Ryu links the joint lock and or the choking techniques.)
④Ura-eri shime
I insert my hands in the collar of the attacker like a photo. (This type of hand movement is called Sashite)
The movement of my arm is similar to Jodan uke.Note that I twist my right wrist. The target is The vital point Mikazuki of the attacker.
⑤Omote-eri shime
I push the whole my arm into a neck of the attacker. The target is The vital point Mikazuki of the attacker. This movement of Gekisai Syodan has other many Bunkai.

Yuzenkai collect all Bunkai of all Kata and will leave them to posterity through Yuzenkai members.
(Another
some Bunkai are added in a few days.)
⑥This movement is not technique to strongly tread on the attacker's instep. It is the technique that strike the attacker's foot's vital point (Kouri) that is between the root of the thumb and firstfinger with my tiptoe.(or the vital point Souin that is between the root of the third finger and the roots of the fourth finger of the foot)
Notes to the Back of hand. When back of hand is not sideway , the elbow does not effectively pierce the attacker's vital point "Chikon".
At the same time, gedanbarai is the preparation to a counterattack of attacker, and it is attack to the vital point myojo of the attacker.

As soon as I prevent attacker's tuki with my left Syuto-uke,I hit vital point (Mikazuki) of the his neck with Syuto.I throw the attacker and attack the vital part of his wrist and shoulder.

I draw his arm to stretch the his elbow. And I twist his wrist to his little finger side while his parm become the right angle to his arm.
Bunkai14 from Kata"Sanseru.(サンセール:三十六より)

②My right hand suppresses enemy's upper-body. My left hand scoops enemy's hinder leg. I lift the enemy.

I drop the enemy on my right knee, and break his spine. This is also a typical Gojuryu throwing technique. (虎投げ:Tora-Nage;Throwing the tiger )Practice so carefully because this is a fatal technique for breaking the spine.
"Tora-Nage" is the most dangerous Bunkai in this operation. The practice of this technique breaks the spine of opponent by a little carelessness. Arrange the assistant nearby when you practice for the prevention of accidents.

③I draw enemy's neck by my hand of Jodan Uke. I attack enemy's eyes by my right Nukite.

throwing, and destruction of rib
I attack the pubis or the vital point “Kineki” by ‘Nukita” in the right of me at the same time as exchanging the enemy attack by “Uchiuke.”  The right “Nukite” immediately grips the enemy’s belt after the attack and begins to control the enemy’s movement.  The featured combat thought of Goju-ryu appears well in this attack.  In Goju-ryu, Okinawa sumo wrestling is traditionally valued as a basic practice.  The combat theories of Okinawan sumo and Goju-ryu historically have been intimate.
I begin to throw out the enemy instantaneously using the movement of the arm of the right hand and the left hand that gripped the belt.  In that case “Ashibarai” is used. I attack the enemy’s side by with my weight by using “Chuko-iiponken” and break the enemy’s rib

I exchange the enemy attack by using right “Hiki-uke,” etc.  The right hand grips the enemy’s arm at that moment and the left elbow attacks the enemy’s mandible.  The left hand instantaneously suppresses the vital point on the other side of the enemy’s elbow.
